- Dress Appropriately: Wear light, breathable clothing and comfortable shoes suitable for walking in the fields.
- Take Breaks: Rest in shaded areas periodically to avoid overheating. Don’t overexert yourself.
- Start Early: If possible, visit the fields when they first open at 9am when temperatures are cooler.
- Know the Signs of Heat-Related Illness: Be aware of symptoms like dizziness, headache, nausea, and excessive sweating. If you or anyone in your group feels unwell, seek shade and drink water immediately.
- Supervise Children: Ensure children are drinking water and taking breaks as needed. Keep an eye on them at all times.

FAQs
Can we bring our own containers?
No! Please only use picking pails provided by Horsting's Farm Market. Pails are included with your ticket and you are able to pick them up at the Farm Market.
Can I just show up to U-Pick?
We highly suggest purchasing your tickets in advance! That way all you have to do is check in at the Farm Market or Gold Trail Goody Shack and pick up your pail!
When is the best time to do U-Pick?
Due to the hot weather we experience during the summer we highly suggest coming in the morning before the heat of the day!
Are the U-Pick Fields open rain or shine?
No! Our fields will be closed in the rain and if temperatures reach extremely high on Hot days. Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear suitable shoes. Even mornings can be quite hot, so ensure you have the necessary gear, including water, sunscreen, and heat-appropriate clothing like a hat and comfortable walking shoes.
Can I bring my dog?
No dogs are allowed due to food safety concerns.
Can I bring a small child?
Yes! With parent supervision, this is a fun family activity.
